You're fairly new to photography and you keep taking blurry photographs but don't know why?
It's starting to put you off using your DSLR Camera and don't know what to do to start taking better photographs. Well there are a few basic things that you're probably doing that's causing this issue for you but first of all check your glass is clean. Make sure the lens you are using is clean and free from smudges, marks, grease etc. First take a look at both ends of your lens and give it a clean....

I've heard it a few times from different people that if you get your shot right in camera when you take it there's no need for editing and in theory that's right.
In good light with plenty of time to take your shot, and repeat it if required to perfect it, and you might get a good photo that you think doesn't need to be edited. If you're just showing it on your social media maybe that's ok and you're happy with it as it is. What about when the situation isn't great for you to capture that good photograph. Maybe you have to snatch a shot before it goes or the lighting isn't great or there's a massive light contrast in your shot, too much to balance out with the settings in your camera as above ? If you've already got a good photograph then just a few tweaks to lighting, colour, vibrancy maybe is all that you plan to do, or maybe you want to add a filter to your photo with your social media app as you post it, that's still editing. What if you plan to print it or it's for paid work, or you want to turn that good photo into a great photo.... Sunsets and Silhouettes....
Sunset is a great time to venture out to take some photographs and grab some great Silhouettes of the countryside with some fantastic colours in the sky. The trees in these photographs add so much to the composition of these photographs. Imagine if you take the trees out of these photographs, you then have a very dark base and a coloured top with very little else, but add a tree in to the frame and it makes these sunset photographs so much more interesting don't you think. I was also lucky to have the nice Porsche SUV passing by in one of my photographs which adds another dimension to the overall picture and make it like a Photograph you'll find in a car magazine rather than just a Landscape Sunset Photo. Try you're own sunset photographs and experiment with trees and other things like buildings, bridges, tall chimneys, roof tops, any anything else rather than just the sun and that red/orange/blue sky. Product Photography... Whether you plan to sell on Etsy, Ebay, Redbubble or your own website with Gifts For Sale, good product photos are essential to help you make those sales and get those £££ or $$$ or what ever currency you use rolling in.
I'm assuming your going to be selling as a regular thing, part time additional income or full time business.
Maybe you're a photographer selling Landscape Photography Prints or you Craft and want to sell the things you make, or you provide Photography Services and customers ask you if you take card payments for the services you offer.
I have a very cheap, easy and portable solution for you.... At the time of writing this the card machine costs less than £20 ! And it's yours forever....
One of the more popular questions I get asked from people who have seen some of my shots by water whether its the sea, river, a waterfall... is how did you get it to look smooth or milky rather than crisp and sharp water detail shot.
Well it's done by using the Long Exposure Technique. Basically when the photo is taken, rather than the shutter opening and closing very very quickly like it normally does to keep the image sharp with no blurring, the shutter opens and closes very slowly over quite a few seconds, sometimes as long as 20 or 30 seconds. Wildlife photography isn't something I do much of as it's quite often very hit and miss as to whether you're going to actually get any shots of the wildlife you want to take photographs of and then you could be waiting hours on end and not really get a shot you're really happy with as you have no creative control. But if a more guaranteed opportunity comes up I'm happy to give it a go. Fortunately there are a few places around the country you can go and take photographs of Deer, whilst you don't have any control of placing them and getting them to look at the camera, they are there. These were taken at Richmond Deer Park, Greater London after I had been working in the area earlier that day and had a little bit of time at the end to do my own thing so decided on a quick visit to the deer park. As always there's that one shot as a professional photographer you really really like from a shoot and here it's the first one in this series, the young stag. I've made this photograph available on various products from Cups to Coasters - Wall Prints to Wall Canvas - T-shirts to Shower Curtains - Cushions to Greeting Cards. Make sure you take a look at the sale items on Redbubble >>> Have you taken a look at the 98 photos in my online gallery ? There's a variety of photographs that I've taken over the last couple of years in various places. Have a look NOW>>>> Janste Event Photography service is probably my favourite service that I provide to various clients mainly in and around Yorkshire but I'm always happy to travel further for full day events, who doesn't like a day out at an event or show, especially in the sunshine, even if I'm working hard to make sure everything is accomplished that the client wants from me. Unfortunately due to the virus issue this year it looks likely that most events over this summer have already been cancelled or are going to be cancelled, I'm going to miss these events but I'm planning for the future I guess like most people are and looking forward to the end of the year events and next summers shows. I've been a event photographer at a variety of events from Haworth 1940's weekends to Newby Hall Classic Car Show to Yorkshire Wartime Experience to Whitby Goth events to Bronte Vintage Gathering and plenty of others and general local shows, all of which are always great fun for everyone involved even if like me,you're there working. I find that my followers like to see the event photos whether they went themselves or missed it and it's on their diary for next time.
Event organisers always benefit from great professional photos which they download from a secure password protected page on my website. Not only do they get a photographic reminder of the event, but these photos can be used to promote their future events on on social media accounts, website and in promotional materials. Have a look at Janste's Event Photography Prices and Services >>> I'm a West Yorkshire Professional Photographer and Yorkshire has some of the finest Landscape scenery in the UK with the Yorkshire Dales and a Yorkshire Coastline enabling photographers to get great Photos of Whitby and the rest of the coastline as you head down to Scarborough, Flamborough and the rest. But for Cityscape Photography (city landscapes) and Street Photography it has to be London in the UK. Their is so much to see and photograph in the vast capital city with the old builds and new next to each other giving such contrasting views, lots of well know famous landmarks, the River Thames, majestic buildings, and then the different night and day look to the same places. I've visited London many times now for work and just for my own photography enjoyment and I always love going back again and again, walking around London with my camera capturing new photos of this ever changing city. Their is something for most types of photographers to get their camera out and photograph and if you'd like to try street photography capturing a moment in time on a street as people go about their lives, whether they are locals who live and work their every day, or tourists making a short visit to enjoy the sights and sounds of this vast city, then this is an ideal place to have a go at it even for the self conscious and shy wannabe street photographer With so many tourists all with so many cameras you blend right in on most streets around central London and all the tourist spots. Nobody is phased by a person pointing a camera in their direction on the street and very few people politely jump out of your way whilst you take your picture which is great because with street photography, you want people in your photographs. Below you'll find just a few of the great photographs I've taken around London but there are more London Cityscape Photographs in my online gallery on the website...
